The subject of sex is often attached with a stigma of shame. This is true for both sexual health and our sexual behaviours. Research has found that although society is becoming more liberal in its relationship with sex and our sexual habits are seen as becoming ’kinkier’, our sexual health resources have become more inadequate. Many found the abundance of online resources overwhelming with many sexual health websites lacking visual style and being difficult to navigate. This meant people where not receiving the information needed. This teamed with the embarrassment and stigma attached to visiting sexual health services meant many were neglecting their sexual health. Sexupal aims to offer a one stop online sexual health service that is discreet and convenient for the user but also relieves certain pressures on current NHS resources.
